Unfortunately I'm not a big fun of Quake III arena, but I really love Tremulous.

Is someone trying to port it to N900? It's make use of Quake III engine but it's a free
opensource game.

For more information about it check http://tremulous.net/
Packages (bin + data) are part of K/Ubuntu

gnuton@iron:~$ apt-cache search tremulous
tremulous - Aliens vs Humans, team based FPS game with elements of an RTS
tremulous-data - Tremulous datas
tremulous-doc - Tremulous documentation
tremulous-server - Tremulous server
If tremulous is using unmodified ioquake3 engine, then it's very simple. If there are some modifications it would help if they were documented somewhere.

Two bugs which makes ioquake3 not ready for end users imo:
1. Task switching doesn't work.
2. very hard to exit the game

yes, what is the key combo for pulling down the console again?

Ah, here it is:

Fn (Blue Arrow) + Ctrl/Sym = Open/Close console.
Fn + = (Next to backspace) = Esc key.
So pull down the console with Fn+Ctrl, then type /quit to get out.

Maybe he's referring to how it can sometimes lockup when exiting, leaving input totally fubared?

Very hard to exit the game, as I said

Bad news, UT4 is unplayable. It took several minutes to load a map, and the input is all messed up.

I have no idea why it is so slow...

Urban Terror 4. See the quote in my post.

To be fair, Urban Terror is a resource hog on the desktop too. It looks like Quake3 in terms of graphics quality, but it requires a much more powerful machine to run smoothly. Don't know why...
