I have been exploring Ubuntu (Karmic) on my laptop, and am really starting to find the utility in Ubuntu One (Amazon S3). I would like to be able to sync this with my N810 (diablo). Are any devs working on this?

Supporting this in some way shouldn't be a problem. It should just be a matter of getting fuse compiled and using ubuntu one with gvfs. Or you can just use plain old s3fs once someone gets fuse compiled.

I'm playing with Ubuntu One a bit. The only tablet browser I could get working with the site was Fennec, and I actually got a couple of files uploaded from my N810, but it wasn't easy. Is there an official way to request the above-mentioned compilation?

Would this already be compatible with Mer, in theory?

If you don't mind command line and don't mind it not being mounted as userspace fs try s3cmd. Its Python application, requires Python >= 2.4 obviously it has no Hildonized UI.

For S3 access you can also use S3sync.
http://s3sync.net/wiki
It's a Ruby based application and it's working just fine on N800/Maemo 4.

Not to be too negative, but meego will be rpm based, not deb.

So what? If U1 gets a Maemo/Meego client it can easily be packaged both as RPM and deb.
