Someone suggested a battery thread so thought it's good to post up how we use our phones so we can learn from each other.

Connectivity: Constantly connected to Wifi or 3G when I'm out
WLAN transmission power = 100mW
Power saving = On (Maximum)

Account Plugins: SIP only (had 5 signed in before and it was draining the battery, see below)

Ringing tone = Max
SMS alert = Max
IM tone = None
E-mail alert = None
System sounds = Off
Key sounds = Off
Touch screen sounds = Off
Brightness = 3/5
Blacklight time-out = 2 minutes
Lock screen automatically = Checked
Displays stays lit when charging = Off
Touch screen vibration = Off
Power saving mode = Checked

Bluetooth = On when needed only, most of the time remains Off

Third-party applications:
account-plugin-haze
AltmostTI graphing Calc Emulator
Attitude
Bounce Evolution
Countdown Home Desktop Widget
Crash Reporter
Documents To Go Viewer Edition
eCoach
Facebook Widget and Photo Uploader
FM Radio Player
free42
Gonvert
Hermes
location-test-gui
Mad Bomber
Mauku
mbarcode
Microfeed backend
Mirror
OpenTTD
pc-connectivity-manager
Pidgin Internet Messenger
Pixelpipe Upload and Share
qik
Recorder
rootsh
systeminfowidget (the latest version with memory leak fix)
Transmission
xournal
zoutube

On Desktop I only have the following:
Countdown Widget
Facebook
systeminfowidget
Some shortcuts to applications + bookmarks + phone + email + calendar

Other:
Nokia Messaging with 6 accounts
I tend to close all applications before leaving it on standby for long period of time.
I did a proper full charge and re-charge on first low battery warning for 5 times now.

Averaging battery life = At least 20 hours on medium usage (constant Internet connectivity, up to 2 hours on calls, up to 50 text messages, up to 10 photos with flash, up to 2 hours voice recording, up to an hour on music) I haven't watch any videos on it yet or use the FM.

About the account plugins, one thing I found was that if you signed in to many accounts plugins like MSN + Yahoo + Skype + Gtalk + SIP etc. it drains the battery. I had the 5 mentioned above, my battery was draining quick, full charge only lasted 8 hours on medium use.

Since I disabled the accounts plugins except SIP when not needed, a full charge can last me a good 20+ hours now on medium usage. I think the account plugins is the main cause of the battery issue.

I found SIP calls is also another battery killer.
Was calling for about an hour on SIP, it ate half of the battery bar..

Just to show you how diverse the battery life can be..

yesterday i used the device intensively. got me 5-6 hrs.

but in the evening i disabled almost everything and put it on lowest settings. I am 9 hrs further now, have not used it and the battery icon still shows the full amount. if i'd continued like this i bet i would get 3-4 days.

But then technically you wouldn't be using the phone - so no point having it

Still impressive tho

well i've read someone saying a similar thing and i just could not believe that there could be such a big difference in battery life.

5-6 hrs till 90-100 hrs.

but now i've seen it with my own eyes. so yes impressive but maybe even more important, clearing out of the way the possibility of some people having a battery of lesser quality than others.
