I would love to see a good search app on the n900 like google desktop. I know there are already a few linux versions out there.. but i dont think any are optimized for mobile...

Id love to see it query against files, messages (including emails), and the web...

I was really hoping someone was already devloping something like that.
I hope to see soon on the device...we need to improve a lot of small/important things like this to make N900 and Maemo successfull.

I hope there will be an application or a an option also to search in the documents text (like email, sms etc) or even in xls/doc/pdf file eventually on the memory of the device....a sort of real complete google desktop.
In that case we could use also the web interface with localhost function like the real google app.

Do you know anything about this ?

Can someone please explain to be how this guy gets the google toolbar to appear on the desktop like that???
