i don't see any tabs for a new post, I only see Quote&Reply or Quick reply

Besides which, it's not like we don't have a process for this already - simply use the same approach as maemo.org does; testing versions go into the testing repo, get tested, get pushed to release when they're done. Just like (almost) everyone else does.

In any case; there are bugs in the release firmware; if the media were going to rip anyone to shreds surely they'd be as likely to do it over a stubborn refusal to allow people access to known, done, finished and working fixes for those?

Maybe the machine is stuck to the old mode? Upvote http://maemo.org/community/brainstor..._packages-002/ and maybe someday somebody high enough in the management sees the light..

Or sometimes the "'your request is not appropriate for this forum, contact Nokia' graveyard"... Understandable given the workload and need for focus, but also feels like a bit of a fob off, as there doesn't seem to be any useful way to follow that advice.

I suspect a good proportion of the Maemo team would agree, but they might simply be too busy to change their process. It's not that easy to change the way you do things on this scale, even when you are sure it's a good idea. After all there is still a systematic QA process needed, however releases are done.

Still the lack of communication is disappointing.
