damn i got scared...i bought my n900 16-01-10 and when i went and added the repositories and they didn't work, not even the default one i assumed i had just bought a 600€ brick, good thing they are just down atm. I can live with that

Just my initial thoughts of all this mess; shouldn't Nokia host these kinds of important servers instead of outsource to an unreliable ISP? "Real ISPs" have 24/7 maintenance anyway.

This must be so embarrassing for Nokia right now...

At least Nokia should run a mirror to keep the service up in those cases. Especially bad as PR1.1 was out right before they moved and many users were in update mode ....

Got a agree with that. Well hopefully Nokia makes sure it dosen't happen again.

Nokia should have mirrors, but I am happy that they are open enough to allow others to mirror their repositories unlike some other platforms and it's nice to see that they implemented open source package management for the whole system as well.
