OK, the easy-deb-chroot package is in Fremantle extras-devel, done properly through the autobuilder and everything.

Let the beta testing commence. And it is pretty rough terrain right now.

Currently I am trying to figure out why the keyboard is totally dead in LXDE. That's a wee bit of a showstopper.

Ok, so after a flurry of uploads, I think I have a version that is somewhat usable. If you want to beta test, get easy-deb-chroot version 0.9.33-1fremantle1 (or higher).

I especially would like help figuring out why the keyboard is completely dead in LXDE.

I have uploaded new versions of easy-chroot and easy-deb-chroot to to the Diablo Extras-devel repository. Could I get a few beta-testers to try updating and report back here?

If I get no responses by the weekend, I will promote the packages to Extras and then I'll hear about the problems

Changes:
  • Added thp's patches to allow ssh-to-debian-shell.
  • Using the autobuilder process: the packages are now in "free"!
  • Now using separate dm-loop packages!

All of those changes are very geeky things to be excited about, I know.



Look at those beautiful, wonderful dependencies. Sweet.

sorry man, 86 pages of dialog is a bit tiring to read it all.

Maybe compile the instructions again and start a new topic for new version of easy-deb...

Its only a sugestion...

INSTALL INSTRUCTIONS:

You need to install the easy-deb-chroot package from the Extras repository. Install it with the Application Manager.
i cant install this on my n900
it says: unable to install 'easy-deb-chroot'. some application packages required for the installation are missing

what do i do when that happens?
