The way it is now it has no kinetic energy.
Hmm... it has kinetic scrolling. But without enought power. Correct.

So should I add a solution #4 to ajust the actual kinetic scrolling?

What about Post #12 from texrat. The kinetic scrolling should depend on the page lenght.

A good idea or not?

Behavior of the sensitivity should not be affected by web page. After all you don't exactly know the lenght of the page beforehand and your brain definitely assumes the same finger gesture to have same outcome.

Not. As we have no idea how long the page is before we start scrolling so it would be difficult to get used to something that would be so inconsistant.

When I am just moving around on a screen I tend to use small gestures. When I am reading threads I use long slow gestures. When I want to scroll long pages I want to be able to use long fast gestures. This is the feature that is missing.

I would also like to see the scroll bar down the right hand side of the screen but based on the little dot we see now. It could be displayed on the screen for a little longer and allow us to grab hold of it to scroll before disappearing.

I would also like the spacebar scrolling to be switched off as it can be really annoying when trying to type replies.

Or, if easier, what about a four way arrow that you could switch on / slide in from the left, to appear in the middle of the screen. The further you move it away from the centre of the screen the faster it scrolls in the direction moved.

I'd still prefer a better implementation of kinetic scrolling.

What about modifying the kinetic scrolling this way:

Scroll slow on the left side of the screen and fast (with even more kinetic power) on the right side of the screen?

Just a thought without judging. What do you think about this Idea?

Too complicated for me. Am I the only one who uses N900 with one (right) hand?

I have played a LOT of video games in my life though, my thumbs may be highly over-developed.

Spacebar issue is bugging me too. There should be much, much, MUCH more options to choose controls with always that "do nothing" -alternative.

Why not use the accelerometer for webbrowsing on big websites.. Especially in portrait mode that would be awesome
