To edit:

vi /etc/hosts

There you enter IP, domain name and alias for it. It is obvious when you open the file. E.g.:

xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx your.home.domain home

The best place to look for packages not in a repository you already have is:

http://www.gronmayer.com/it/index.php

Search on nano and you'll have a few options for repositories. If you go to gronmayer on your PC installing will download a text file "repository.install". Transfer it to your tablet and click on the file to start the Application Manger. When the repository install is done the apps in the new repository are available for install. alternatively you could create the file repository.install with the following 7 lines.

[catalogues]
catalogues = Maemo diablo/tools
[Maemo diablo/tools]
name = Maemo diablo/tools
uri = http://repository.maemo.org/
dist = diablo/tools
components = free
