In my opinion the possibility firing in time intervals would be a huge advantage. I'd like to get time lapse photos without buying some overly expensive Nikon gear.

The only thing that sucks is these types of comments.

Just install QTIrreco on your N900, then proceed to find a suitable IR code that works with your Sony Alpha (http://lirc.sourceforge.net/remotes/sony/) . Now write that down here and I will integrate it in the next version. That's how it works in a community

My spare time is quite limited Currently working on a Carmode widget to autostart Bluetooth, FM-Transmitter and Playlist playback. Will take a look at it over the weekend.

Will this work with a Canon 30d without any additional hardware ?

Didn't work with my EOS 450D. I tried using QtIrreco (I think it uses the same lirc conf.) and didn't work there either, so I guess it's something wrong with that file?

I've now uploaded the latest version of shutter to extras-test. Changelog:
  • Fixed Canon cams.
  • Added support for Pentax cams.
  • Larger icon.
  • Restarts LIRC daemon upon install.
Thanks for all the input. It would be nice if someone could find out / provide Sony codes (they can most probably be found by trying some of the Sony TV remotes through QTIrreco).

Working on an app is on my roadmap.
