On the left side I am trying to find a way to add more icons to the left bar. I am getting close but I need some help or input. In this example trying to add osso-xterm.

ok in /home/user/.osso/hildon-navigator/plugins.conf I added

Code:
[hildon-osso-xterm.desktop]
Library=
Desktop-file=hildon-osso-xterm.desktop
Position=3
Category=permanent
now all the .desktop files are located /usr/share/applications/hildon/

for the navigator there are copies of the files in /usr/share/applications/hildon-navigator/

so I copied hildon-osso-xterm.desktop to the hildon-navigator/ directory.

and of course the library is where the libraries are stored.

Now I am having problems finding osso-xterm.so if so I believe you can add more icons to left bar.

Thoughts.....

Not exactly what you're looking for, but there's a program called "IDEA!" that adds customizable launch buttons to the home screen. It can be found on maemo.org.

I think he does not want to add shortcuts on the 'desktop'. He wants to add another tab on the left bar along with the WEB BROWSER, CONTACTS and APPS.

Yeah I want to add another icon on the left bar. But as I think about it; it would be too crowded.
