It would have nothing to do with icons, Im saying he launched something by chance. That why I think the "close deb" app/script.

Check /usr/share/icons/default/cursors
The transp icon might have gotten replaced by some app, replace it with a transparent icon
Edit: or use the one attached.
Edit 2: apparently all files are symlinked to transp, so check symlinks.

Very nice, I was having trouble getting my debbie cursor bug to happen again. (couldnt remimber which wm i was trying that caused it lol).
So we can enable a cursor by this also. But by overriding the symlinks to transp
