???
How is that possible? and what apps are you talking about?

thanks

I don't know how it's possible, but that's how it works for me

I tried it with Contacts, Calculator (useless in portrait mode, but still behaved the same as other apps), Photos, PDF Viewer and a couple of others I can't recall at the moment.. all behaved the same way.

I didn't try rebooting -- I'll give that a try and see if it's persistent.

conversations, app manager, settings = AMAZING in portrait mode!!

conversations as soon as u open a conversation goes to landscape until u use key combination and even the everything doesnt fit well. Although the conversations app itself retains the portrait mode setting.

app manager works perfectly in portrait everything works perfectly if only it would retain it.

settings sort of works until you actually open something then all you can see is the save button!

Atleast it shows theyre getting there on the portrait mode front!

If you want to text in portrait mode get the VertSMS app, version 0.5-1 from extras-devel works with PR1.2.

What about using something like the 'Shortcutd' app (which lets you assign a shortcut to the camera button for either short or long press) to assign a script to the button so that it runs ctrl-shift-r when pressed? The benifit being that you wouldn't have to physically open your keyboard at all
