Sorry, no. If by any chance libwebkit compiles, Vala requires GLib 2.12 minimum... and 2007 has 2.10 only.

Nice one =b

Yet, even 19 pages are enough to read. By the way, the tip with the very right side was very helpful. I found the small pop-up box. Still something seems wrong / not working correctly.

Skipping the queue I wonder if someone could check the following screenshot. An error message is displayed and no bookmarks appear. Is this the correct representation right after install?

Thanks for your help in advance. And let me know if this inquiry is better discussed in the "19 pages" thread

Older WebKit or Tear or maybe strange symbols in the bookmark? This pink message usually indicates problems with xml+xhtml parsing (since that's the content-type of the dashboard). See if removing tear.db from /home/user/.tear/ helps.

Sending me or attaching here that db file will probably help (me) too

Removing the tear.db helped. Thanks.

My answer comes a little late as I had some problems getting the IT to connect to the ftp server. Btw Bundyo, you've got mail.

Bundyo , Bunanson , Great Thanks !

Plain sailing ! (except the bookmark pgm would not install without python-sqlite > another apt-get install,)

Tear's screen just tears along, up and down, I will tame it though.
Tear is a joy to browse in, compared to the standard browser.

( It crashed twice during reply writing. (I know it is alfa.)
The third time I wrote in leafpad and pasted into the reply frame.
Clicking "preview" only produced a "save file ?" panel. ?.
So this was done in microB. )

Your step by step instruction , great stuff for Linux beginners.
( I hadn't figured out how to download the different libs Tear asked for, they did not show up in the app manager.)

It seems such help is increasing on the ITT, I welcome that.
Only problem: One can get by without really learning.
But without it the learning curve is quite steep.

I have yet to find a Linux (beginners) "book" that is not only a HowTo or a manual, but digs deeper to show what makes the OS tick.

Part of the crashes were already addressed, but I didn't do a new 770 build yet (have to separate the tree first). I know about the preview problem.

Thought you probably did (, just mentioned them in case).

Tear's auto-slowing-down of the scrolling screen seems just right !
( The run-away-screen is a good teacher for stylus handling.)

I'll certainly watch Tear maturing!

I just installed tear from scratch, followed bunanson's step by step, worked great. A little scare to try new libraries worry may crash something..... so far tear is the greatest browser on 770, 2008He. Thanks Bundyo
