Hello,

I find the Firefox Sync add-on a great idea, but I do not feel like providing all my personal data (though encrypted) to a private company, so I have set up my own Weave server.

It works fine with the desktop version of Firefox (as you can configure a 'Custom Server'), but I have not found that option in the N900 version.

Has anyone been able to configure Firefox Sync for N900 using a custom server instead of the Firefox 'Official' one? How have yo done it?

Thank you very much in advance.

Regards

Hi,
I use this with my own server. Install the plugin, then go to 'about:config', and set 'services.sync.clusterURL' to your address (eg. 'https://foo.bar/weave/'). You can set username/password through the addon's options as normal.
If you're using your own self-certified SSL certificate, then you need to visit the server manually and accept the certificate permanently first.

Hope that helps!
