Is there any app for that?

Unrar doesn't seem to be compatible with N900:
http://maemo.org/packages/view/unrar/

and File-Roller doesn't list RAR types:
http://maemo.org/packages/view/file-roller/

Any other suggestions? I couldn't find 7zip in app manager with extras-testing and devel enabled.

Thanks!

I use unrar (version 3.41 freeware) extensively on my N900 and yet never had a problem with it.

I think it was installed as part of cbrPager.

Edit: Mind you I always use the command-line rather than a GUI like file-roller.

Thanks.. when I try to install the package it says the application is incompatible. Are you PR 1.2?

I can see ver 3.5.4-1 here.

Is that the one you are using or a different one? Do you know if it's optified btw?

My n900 is PR1.2 (even before the update I was using unrar).

What is the exact problem with it?

I don't recall seeing it available to download seperately but you can try and install cbrPager to see if you can get it working on your device.

I dumped file-roller in favor of Xarchiver, use that instead.

I use the command line 7-zip... works fantastically and nice and fast. An apt-get install p7zip-full will get it, then just use 7z x <filename> to extract.

^^It says incompatible application package when I try to install.

and Xarchiver does not seem to recognize RAR files. I think it additionally requires UNRAR to be installed as well which I can't seem to find anywhere.
