I did a quick search but havent seen this covered yet, this is GINGE by Notaz, from the readme...

"Ginge Is Not a GP2X Emulator

Ginge is an application that can run many GP2X F100/F200 games on other ARM Linux platforms."

Since ginge is more a compatibility layer like wine than an emulator, theres a lot more resources to run games as efficiently as possible. It was written for the Wiz and Canoo, but has since been ported to the Openpandora.

Since the Openpandora is quite similar hardware this is a ripe candidate for a port to the N900 and would open up an amazing huge library of existing games and emulators!

Check out the video below..

and another showing it running on a Wiz..

It's currently an entrant in the 2nd GP32Spain / Wiz Contest but is due for release to the public on August 16th!

Oh, we need that. My favourite emulator by far.

Has the N900 kernel OABI support enabled? This is necessary for Ginge...

That much I don't know, I was hoping some of the seasoned devs here may be able to shed some light on this as I'm not familiar with it. If it's a software only issue, -if indeed it is an issue- we have the enhanced kernel available, so maybe if its not already enabled we can enable it.

I'm watching this project in gp32spain.com forums and as proudly owner of a GP2X i'm praying for this to be supported in N900, not only for emulators (gpSP, GNUBoy, gngeo...) but for some AWESOME games like Cave Story, Noiz2sa, MrDriller, SQDEF, Wind and Water, and much more. Think about it, the N900 will become the definitive gaming phone!

PD: if this is not possible, can anybody compile Noiz2sa for the N900? I'm a f*cking lover of this game!

Are all those games closed source or what?

Btw, the kernel doesn't have OABI, but enabling it is trivial (well, "trivial" as in rebuild and flash it).

No, most are open source. But they're some exceptions like Cave Story and Payback.
Another advantage is that many emulators and games are very polished and optimized.
