...without such an AppStore (games, apps, etc.) a tablet does not make sense or is more or less just another piece of hardware. But this is the missing link when it comes to Nokia.

Producing a device and selling it is only half the story. There should be an appstore with tons of stuff to do. Updates and good utilities should not be forgotten. That is also where the big money is and Apple is VERY good at it.
Nokia only sells the device and after that the device is history. People do not want that. Lets see how well MeeGo adapts to this challenge. Without a proper OS there is no chance of a tablet. Although a tablet with Maemo would be interesting...

I would buy a Meego tablet even today. Extras, extras-testing and extras-devel are more than enough for me

Pads are overrated. Even iPad doesn't have that much software. Use convertable laptops instead

iPads are pretty great in terms of usability...
The size:weight, how you can pick it up and touch a single button to turn it on without any wait.. multitouch gestures also make more sense in >5" form factor.
I'm looking forward to the day where all tablets of all shapes, size and standards have reached current iPad's level of usability.
