I fully agree.
With the N900 we have a very good quality recording device and the only thing missing is such a video editing application.

dunno. I've got some video editing software on MY N900 because I have easy debian installed. There's quite a few but i like avidemux.

Without DSP support any more than simple split/cut/merge operation will be dreadfully slow. I played a bit with audacity on the N900 and any real processing or de/encoding is almost painful even at 1GHz. And that is just audio.

if you have 'easy debian' for the n900 installed then you can install it from the debian synaptic app installer, along with the 25,000 other linux apps. as the poster above points out, speed isn't great, but it's very usable for short clips like music videos or clips taken from the n900 camera. check out the 'easy debian beta testing' thread for more info if youre not familiar with it. if you are familiar with it, then just use the synaptic installer.
