//You're gonna need a fileplanet account to download some of the stuff here.

Tried a bunch of quake mods, and here are some of those which play well on the N800.

To install the mods, simply place the game folder into /meda/mmc*/quake/.

Minion - A chess mod, except that you have to fight for your pieces. Everytime you move a chess piece into another, you will be teleported to a arena where you have to fight it out. If you win, you get the piece. Vice versa.

Bulldog Stadium - Kind of like gladiator, except you don't have a weapon and you'll have to run and avoid monsters to stay alive! The fps is not very smooth, but playable.

Burning man - Loosely based off the burning man festival. You'll run around a map killing giant stick figures, grenade-lobbing potties and naked chicks.

Lunkin’s Journey - An adventure + platform game. Have yet to try it, but it looks promising.

Slide - Another promising game which i have yet to try. A futuristic snowboarding game which would likely be great on the tablet.

do contribute to the list if possible!

Also, i believe for some of the mods, you would need the original game data, i.e. does not work on shareware data files.

A lot will run but may not make sense for tablet play (unless maybe you have bt keyboard). Sometimes its as easy as copying the directory and launching. Other times you need to do alot of tweaking config files to remap commands to buttons. Some dont want to work at all.

Also with alot of these mods to may be required to increase memory by adding -mem <#megs> to the command line when launching... like -mem 16works good for all the most demanding mods.

The first thing you need to do when tweaking for tablet is set viewsize to 120 in config files... i usually set this in autoexec.cfg which i put in mod directory. You also -may- need to remap keys F4-F8 UPARROW DOWNARROW LEFTARROW RIGHTARROW ENTER ESCAPE.

Here are the few which i have already tested and tweaked :

Killer Quake Patch (Review : http://retroquake.planetquake.gamespy.com/blog/?p=151):
-Summary - Not really maps just a collection of bots and weapons to use for existing single player. Currently only bots are configured in autoexec.cfg but you can tap into more functionality by adding the binds to config files (which i may do at sometime in future).
-Download Maemo-Friendly Version - http://wardenclyffetower.com/MaemoFiles/killer.zip
-Running - Put files in /quake/killer and launch with sdlquakepxd -mem 16 -game killer

Beyond Belief (Review : http://retroquake.planetquake.gamespy.com/blog/?p=169)
- Summary - New Maps and it plays like an expansion pack. Basically more of the same... which has advantages in that it works well (fast) and is not very difficult like some of the insanely crazy mods.
- Download (Tweaked for Maemo) - http://wardenclyffetower.com/MaemoFiles/bbelief.zip
- Running - Extract files to /quake/bbelief and launch using sdlquakepxd -game bbelief +map bbstart

Quake Rally (Review : http://retroquake.planetquake.gamespy.com/blog/?p=174)
- Summary - Fun mod with quirky controls; No real bots but you can race time trials or practice runs on custom maps which they have designed. Music and presentation are very good.
- Download (Tweaked for Maemo) - http://wardenclyffetower.com/MaemoFiles/rally.zip
- Running - Extract files to /quake/rally and launch using sdlquakepxd -game rally

---------------
Some games which *work* but which might need more tweaking for maemo :

After the Fall : (will post what i have later)
- Summary - this looked very promising... completely different theme than Quake-- more like duke nukem... new sounds new textures... futuristic urban levels.... when you first start up they have demos which play showing you how the mod plays, but when i played single player there were no enemies? weird... will revisit this to see if i can figure out why.

Quake 1 Arena : (will post what i have later)
- Summary - Very Impressive reproduction of Quake 3 arena for quake 1. Sounds, bots, bot chats, scoreboard all act like quake 3 arena.... on a tablet that makes it very tough though... i will tweak later but perhaps only keyboard users should try.

There are way more but it takes time to test and tweak all these mods.
