Been OK. I have been able to stream radio. A 15mb d/l didn't take too long ~20s, however youtube/iplayer does stall.

I know that this is nearly a 1 year old post but that's me just finding out about giffgaff

so now that they are going to start charging for data would it be better if we were to give 3 a shot?

If you don't make many voice calls, get a Virgin Mobile Pay as you go SIM card. Data is £5 per month for 1GB.

Has anyone tried heard of or used giffgaff as a mobile carrier in the UK?
I came across them this morning and one of the things that I noticed were ...

Fair Use Policy for Data

If you don't have a goodybag, or you have the £5 goodybag then data is free, subject to the 100MB per day FUP.

If you have the £10, £15 or £35 goodybag (i.e. wherever we say data is unlimited) then there is NO FUP.

Unlimited - At giffgaff 'unlimited' means 'unlimited', so play fair and play nice, so it stays that way.
Their prices seem VERY reasonable and they use O2's network so its pretty good coverage

£10 "goodybag" 150 minutes Unlimited texts Unlimited Internet
£15 "goodybag"300 minutes Unlimited texts Unlimited Internet
£20 "goodybag"600 minutes Unlimited texts Unlimited Internet
£30 "goodybag"Unlimited calls Unlimited texts Unlimited Internet
And calls to other giffgaff users are always free
From what I can gather a "goodybag" is PAYG and you buy whichever "goodybag" you want each month.

I moved from PAYG a good few yrs ago but apart from my brief stint on Voda with my N900 (disaster that was) I've always in the past 10 yrs been on O2

However I'm now seriously considering this giffgaff

Seems a pretty good deal

unless anyone knows better?

I'm a giffgaff VIG and have been with them since day one. While I don't pay anything (perk of being a VIG), I can confirm that the prices are as good as they seem.

The free 100MB a day will end on 1st December but the goodybags offer excellent value for money.

giffgaff is a community supported network, so it fits in well with maemo/N900.
