I did uninstall... twice, so yes maybe I was doing something wrong. I've installed the .deb files and have Gecko/20101007 Firefox/4.0b8pre Fennec/4.0b2pre so all is good...

Yeah, but does it say anything els? What hapens if you try to install them separatly? Is there som dependency problems with already installed files.. does "autoremove" work?

I installed Aptitude then installed from the command line (as root)

aptitude install fennec

It worked fine and upgraded the app.

Edit- ...which just hangs on loading sites!

I had the same installation problems.

I finally installed it from here: http://moff.mozilla.com/latest-beta/

I choosed to install the QT version (maemo5-gtk/ 06-Oct-2010 20:46) which should be the latest available build.

It works ok, kept my 1.1 addons

Seems a bit faster than 1.1, and a bit more stable. I like it better than the previous versions, but imo, still doesnt beat MicroB

A little bit confused here... I originally downloaded Firefox from Ovi some time back. I uninstalled and tried to install new beta via official Mozilla website but it is still trying to add 1.1. Could anyone help me remedy this? Thanks.

On the N810, this definitely starts up the app manager to install Firefox 4 beta, but I still get dependency issues.

To all of you guys having trouble with install (aka install instructions for dummies)

1) Go here http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/m/beta.html from your mobile browser and add the repo for maemo.

2) After adding the repo close App Manager (dont try to install from app manager)

3)Open console, do an "apt-get update"

4)"apt-get install fennec" and voila...

EDIT: i forgot to mention, u MUST disable Ovi repo before doing anything.

It worked for me from the Application Manager. It didn't install from Faster Application Manager.

It looks it doesn't have a Flash plugin and I think a browser with no Flash support is useless. Is there a way to activate flash for this?

Also an AdBlocker is urgent too.
