thread title is misleading. It's already there in Nitdroid. I thought you were saying portrait mode in Maemo

They're talking about MeeGo, which kinda makes this thread pointless, the N900 has had portrait mode outside of Maemo before (MeeGo images, NITDroid, etc...)

AWESOME! Finally my expensive phone can do what much less expensive phones have been doing for years!

Oh Nokia...when will you slow down and let the others catch up to your groundbreaking technologies? Have pity on them, plz.

Made my day.
Personally I can't even use the N900 with one hand anyway. I have to use my finger nails for maxi screen responsiveness. However, the N900 is so thick that using it with one hand and using my nails has turned out to be pretty impossible for me.

Just to state the obvious,: in one handed portrait operation, the device will be used while the keyboard is closed.

It is the most natural position to securely hold an interactive item of that size/shape/weight. Just ask Nokia why they've been designing phones like that for years.

i bought the n900 and the n97 because they have the landscape feature with kbd, i dont want portrait mode at all,
(although i did still install MohammedAG's portrait fixes!!)
and you all do realise that n900 running meego will have more bugs than maemo5 v1.0, dont you?
