Hello,

If I buy the N900 Unlocked from Newegg, will I be able to use it without a SIM card? I intend to use this wireless only.

I will be adding a SIM card in a few months, If I end up getting it.

Thanks,
Andrew

yes, it should work fine. I've taken my simcard out before when abroad. You battery will last longer too without it.

So it will work fine directly out of the box without a SIM?

I know android phones require a SIM to be inserted and activated in order to setup a google account, before the device is usable.

It shouldn't be a problem. There are people here, that don't have a simcard i the phone, that only use it with wireless.

If, by any chance, it would need a SIM card to start, just insert a pre paid, or borrow a SIM card from one of your friends (but I'm quite sure you wont need it)

You won't be sorry. I bought mine a month ago and I'm in love .

I didn't need a SIM to activate it.
