maacruz I edited my previous post. it submitted before I had finished. The fix is a script. you will need to do it for some apps. you can check the contents of the script if you like. The actual focus workaround was done by qobi in this thread.

Just a question for any N900 easy-debian user. If you switch back and forward from a easy-debian application which requires the keyboard focus fix (Fn+Return), does it lose the focus and it's needed to press Fn+Return again? Or is enough to press Fn+Return once for the life of the window

Um, I tried Easy Debian a few months ago, but it was too slow and cumberous, so I removed it again. Please do not tell me I have to install ED again to get snx working?

On getting keyboard focus in snx: did I perhaps miss a key combination like fn+return to get it?

No, you won't have to install easy-debian to get snx to work.
I'm asking because I want to know if it will be enough if snx uses the fix at startup, or if a key combination will be needed.

@maacruz: a key combination will not hurt in either case. Most VMs have one and sometimes it is needed, sometimes not. It indicates in my opinion that getting input focus automatically always is tricky.

Please, test this package. In desktop mode the NX remote desktop should have the input focus automatically. Also, I've applied the input-focus fix to the fullscreen keybinding (camera key), so pressing this key should give the input focus to the active window.

I tried to install the new package but it needs x11-utils

Unpacking replacement snx ...
dpkg: dependency problems prevent configuration of snx:
snx depends on x11-utils; however:
Package x11-utils is not installed.
dpkg: error processing snx (--install):
dependency problems - leaving unconfigured
Errors were encountered while processing:
snx
