I want to skip the step where the autoinstaller download the android image .I have downloaded the android image file in my pc and transferred to the MyDocs folder.Now I want that the auto installed will perform all the steps except downloading the NITDroid-N900-the-flying-world.bz2 file.I want that the autoinstaller to use the file in the MyDocs folder.I s it possible?? Please help.

Yes you can download everything from Nitdroid website.
Create a directory /home/user/MyDocs/.nitdroid/
Plug your N900 in Mass Storage.
copy all .bz2 file in this directory.

Then after transfer unplug your N900.
and launch nitdroid script as told for nitdroid autoinstaller and it will skip the download part.

it's not working with me what i did is:
root
mkdir /home/user/MyDocs/.nitdroid
then connected to pc and copied the files then nitdroid installer seems to want to replace them?

bump,bump,bump btw when i mkdir the .nitdroid directory i find it on my pc but it doesn't appear on my n900

im staying online all the time to wait the solution if anybody knows the answer please post here i'll be so grateful to u while not having to wait an hour and 20 minutes on my crappy internet connection

I think there are too many files in that directory now(ie. as of 08Dec 2010). According to the Sept22,2010 version of the nitdroid.manifest file, it seems that you only need the following:

NitDroid-0.0.8-Popov.tar.bz2
oc-profile-500-700.tar.bz2
sensors-ril-patch-1.tbz2
fakegps.tar.bz2
nitdroid-kernel-2.6.28-06_final1_armel.deb

This list of file also match up with what I found in my .nitdroid directory on the N900 after the installation.
