Angry Birds on the PC plays exactly like the N900 and N8 versions. Same levels, same piglets, same unhappy avians.

What it lacks on the PC is the intimacy and "hands-on" you get when playing with touch screen devices. You gain in accuracy, especially over the N8 version, when using the mouse.

Depending upon your PC speakers you get pretty good sound. The sound effects, which can be played individually from Windows Explorer, show the level of detail and thought that went into the game. There are numerous variations of "wood breaking" sound for example. Two might have been enough but there are more than that.

I am pleased with how well the graphics scale up. They look fine on my 23 inch LCD at 1920 x ? monitor

The only issue I had with the game was several times it refused to start claiming it could not use some module, forget which one. I wrote an e-mail to Rovio support, and before sending it, re-started the game one more time to get the exact module that was being reported and the game started right up. So, unless that issue rears up again it looks like it be fine.

I had to install the Intel AppUp application to download.

its absolutely identical to the n900-version.
obviously runs much smoother.

other than that, i dont see why anyone would want to pay for it, since there are a lot of very similar flashgames.

$4.99 seems too much on the PC-platform, I mean its free on Android.

A $1.99 price seems more justifiable in my books.
show me similar game with comparable quality for free. IMO it deserves 5 bucks.

It's available on PSP and PS3 too. I don't know why the X11 (opengl) Linux version* wasn't compiled for x86 and released for desktop linux.

*the arm one we have on n900
