Nothing too crazy, but it features the typical amazon styling. Lets see how well it does. Amazon can be heartily aggressive.

EDIT: Angry birds RIO is FREE for the next 18 hours! Get it while it's HOT.
Arrrggghhh!!

Why can't anybody but the U.S. get it?

Although I can't really complain as we are getting the 3DS slightly earlier!

I suspect this would work for the Tab as well, and would add some useful tactile feedback. It would be better still if it were embodied in a case that you could just snap on to your device, or like a band that you could slip around your device (weekend DIY project?). In any case, it's likely better than just the bare screen for these emu games.
Wow, thanks Capt'n.

They look like they could come in really handy.

I'll have to see if i can get hold of some.

@Capt'n: cool. Now we gotta wait and see what kind of positive effect Amazon can bring to Android's 'ecosystem (uhuh)'.
(no, wasn't being sarcastic).

@danramos: dude, CM7 (grabbed latest nightly) worked out SWELL on my nookcolor. Though the experience is still faaaar from the iPad (we'll have to see how a post-beta honeycomb rom with proper video acceleration perform on this baby), but I'm loving the form factor.

Yeah dude, you should be looking at *points every other way but this thread*.

Btw, shouldn't this thread be renamed to The Android Thread or some such?

Hahaha... Yeah, it would probably be better suited being named the Android Thread. We need to appeal to Etuoyo, who was the thread's father -- possibly mother... this is the internet afterall.

Apple's app store is an unregistered trademark. Furthermore, many assert that it's a fairly generic term that predates the iPhone. I don't know how much protection Apple has on their claim or validity to it either, but anything is possible in the US judicial system. But it seems foolish to me that Apple is willing to spend resources pursuing something so irrelevant to customers.

What was Amazon thinking? They should have done a trademark search. Thankfully, the 'damages' are minimal in that they were live for only a handful of hours. It will be interesting to see if this case will be thrown out, or if Amazon will be forced to pay up for this minor infraction.

My guess? They are going to call it Amazon Apps -- as they should have done from day number one.

Great post! Shows me for making assumptions.

Thanks!

Here's an Engadget post about the new Tabs:

http://www.engadget.com/2011/03/22/s...nner-than-the/

Interesting bit:
It seems that both Tabs have a 3MP on the back. Samsung opted out of the 8MP camera, probably for cost saving reasons.

EDIT: Complete with video.

EDIT: Updated price
Samsung came clean with the pricing at its press conference this morning. The WiFi 10.1 will hit on June 8th -- the 16GB version will cost you $499 and the 32GB $599. The 8.9 is $469 and $569 for 16GB and 32GB, respectively.
Wow.. Talk about being competitive!

This is the most exciting news I've heard *all day*...

I was almost forced to get a smartphone just to have a quick pick up and use phone. Check this out:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g4avPDtNJ30

This pen-like device is basically a Bluetooth handset that you carry in your pocket. Your tablet stays in your bag, but you can make and place calls with this tiny pen device. This is ****ing perfect! Samsung nailed it! BT handsets are incredibly rare, and this is right on the money.

With low-cost data-plans, this is looking to be a shockingly solid offering.

I'm beaming... Time to simmer down..
