Actually, listing songs/playlists doesn't take CPU time, at least not a lot, the stock media player depends heavily(!) on tracker, that's why it's way too slow.

Listing videos (112 clips) takes less than 2 seconds for example.

Not sure, it could be an mce limitation (and that's closed source).

Ahh, rewrite, even better

Well, when I change view to Playlists the circle in status area turns for 9 rounds before the Automatic Playlists are loaded, I notice that all the other Imported playlists are loaded in just few seconds. And its laggy to scroll throu the playlists while the Automatic Playlists loads.

So if there is just an easy way to disable Automatic Playlists, that would be great, but dont spend to much effort in this. Its not that serious issue

I have 4000+ songs on my phone.
