Not 100% sure what week 15 etc means but I assume it could be the end of Arpil/start of May, If so we could have the Beta edition for the end of may conference and a final version by the summer which is a lot quicker than I thought it would be.

Alpha release: on week 15
Official DE image available with some overlays on top of MeeGo 1.2 trunk (see ARM/N900/Configuration).
Calls, SMS and Browser should be in a demoable state (MeeGo Summit FI). Camera as a bonus.
Some key performance and usability items fixed (PM kernel, backlight control)
Beta release: on week 20 (MeeGo Conference)
TBD
Final release candidate: on week 25

Week 15 means the 15th week of the Year. Try looking at the calendar app from your n900 device and take a peek at the left in month view.

So the information is:
Alpha: 11.04.2011 - 17.04.2011 (W15)
Beta: 16.05.2011 - 22.05.2011 (W20)
Final: 20.06.2011 - 26.06.2011 (W25)

Saturday April 16th

9:35 - 10:15 "The MeeGo OBSes, MeeGo Apps and the Future" - David Greaves "MeeGo 1.2 Developer Edition for N900" - Jukka Eklund

Hmmmmm, maybe an updated version of 1.2 DE will be released on the same day. It almost fits in line with what you all have said about a late April release.

MeeGo 1.2 and N900 Developer Edition are 2 different things. First one is the OS release, and second one is an edition optimized for N900.

At any time you will find everything there is to know at the wiki: http://wiki.meego.com/ARM/N900/DeveloperEdition. Most important thing to understand: This is not for regular Maemo 5 end users, only developers and hackers.

Okay, let me see if I understand this: The Developer Edition is not for regular Maemo 5 end users. Great. Thanks. Got it.

And to keep the noobs and kiddies out of trouble, there should be a dynamic, non-Googleable test at the download site. For their first offense, any talk.maemo.org, maemo.org or meego.com members caught cheating or helping would be banned for 1 week. 2nd offense, two weeks. And so on. And any non-authorized members that ask questions would be simply hanged, drawn and quartered.

My work here is done.

Oh for **** sake what is your problem!!! what he is saying is its for developers and if you're an enduser you cant expect it to "just work" like in the maemo case cause its a developer edition and you have too tweek to install apps or even make basic stuff to work.

Ofcourse you have right to install it as enduser if you want too. But some people may take it as its a full upgrade of Maemo and everything will work but this is not the case. Thats why its called a developer edition.

Would it be that hard to understand!?
