Just flicking through the repos. In the event that I get an N9, which is unlikely seeing as it's probably not going to be available in the UK, the following would be very useful and I don't think mentioned yet...
  • compression s/w (tar-gnu, unzip, lzma etc.)
  • mplayer (explicitly, not just front-ends)
  • maepad (both versions)
  • Dataplan monitor
  • rtmpdump
  • libwww-perl (not an app per-se but needs re-packaging probably)
  • camera extensions (FCamera & BlessN900) + drivers
  • Ansel-A digital dark room (not sure if in "free" section of repos)
  • fMMS (or is MMS pre-installed?)
  • CUPS (or is a printing mechanism pre-installed)
  • gloarchive
  • swappolube (if necessay with the larger RAM?)

While not strictly maemo community software, nitdroid.

My list of Maemo apps I frequently use, which I would very much also want to use on Meego 1.2 Harmattan:
- nelisquare
- tweego
- stockthis
- recorder
- hermes
- netmon
- conboy

Great thread so far! the devels who've committed to porting makes me feel more confident about buying the n9 when it comes out!

My wishlist:
-FCam + Drivers (oh pwetty puhwease!)
-Flashlight
-Dropbox Client
-Transmission/other torrent client
-Cutetube-Qml (thanks marxian!)
-Frontview (thanks benlau)
-Filebox
-Hermes (thanks jaffa)
-MussOrgsky
-PrescenceVNC
-Sticky Notes app that can pin notes to the lockscreen (as notifications, tho i realize this can be solved by using the calendar) OR pin note-like windows to the multitask view
-Power-kernel, or some way to overclock and voltage-control
-Swappolube, if needed

Preenv! (About the multitouch-optimized games that *some* of us play...surely the N9 solves our problems? )

Probably my most frequently used app is the mafw-lastfm (last.fm scrobbler), I'd love to have it (or any other scrobbler) on N9 as well.

Porting might understandably be a bit tricky though, since it's explicitly a "maemo media application framework" app...

If we'll have Myriad's Alien Dalvik on, I don't think Nitdroid will be a must.

Without wishing to put anyone down, isn't this thread pretty much turning into the "What are the "must have" (top, best, most useful) applications?" thread, where people are just listing their favourite and most important apps?
