Sure Can!!
With what?

Please give me a run down (simple point form) so I can help.
I've had massive issues today with an SD card not letting me boot Android.

pax2fast

i think it is related to the Filesystem.
When i used Ubuntu 10.4 LTS it had some issues with writing permission.
After copying the Files, and rebooting the Machine, there were no Files on it. Yes, the Copy Security Pin on the SD Adapter has been turned off.
Try another Distrobution - currently i am downloading Mint 9.
Hope that Helps

EDIT :

Hooooray ;_) It Works - i just ejected the SD through VM and not Nautilus, then there were the Files. ;-)
I edited before the Permissions which Root should have, et voilį , there we go- we are booting up.
But now there are stuck at the bootprocess:

I/O error, dev mmcbl0, sektor 3555812
So once again an issue with the Formatting?

IMO it sounds like a copying error, or a file system corruption.

Well - i did it - i think a hundred times today.
Partitionating - FAT 32MB
EXT3 2048MB
FAT 1700MB

Then , unmount, restart VM, Remount, Copying the ROOTFS, NO ERRORS untill now, then Inserting into the Device, and then it boots, but still gives the Lines:
untracked 819 lines ... with various other lines as well.
i think i“ll try another machine if i am later at Home again.

Instead of unmounting try turning the VM off. You might want to try re-downloading the file. Or if you follow my guide it's updated with Froyo now.

"Getbootstate: Mounting p2
mount: Mounting / dev/p2 / mnt on / new_root failed: No such file or directory "

also

getbootstate: invalid selection
choose bootup option:
2), MMC
9) start a shell[/QUOTE]

I have the same problem as this. I've tried to repartion the card many times and putting froyo on the same amount of times... It just wont boot android. I've used Toja92's instructions all the way through. One thing that differ is i can't open things as root but as administrater. The screen does get red and i can transfer the files. I've closed the vm with and with out unmounting, no difference, not able to boot I've allso reconected to vm and i can see the partitions and the froyo rootfs files in it.
Anybody know whats the problem here?

@Dousan: You're not the only one with this problem, I'll see if I made something wrong in my guide...

--> No need to unmount by the way, since you're done when you transferred the files you can shut down the VM. <--
Scratch the above, better safe than sorry
