Meego on N900 is Community Edition, not Harmattan. You will not have the gui of the N9. You will have the stock UI which is not better than Fremantle's one.
Read this. During your reading, don't miss the paragraph that says:
This is not meant for regular (Maemo 5) users. Using this release will probably void any warranty and there is no (other than community-based) support available.
All the current features are listed.
there is a Faq.
there is a list of availlable apps.
Everything is there. take 10 minutes and read it.

i will try it with a class 10 SD later.
for some reason voice calls go through but could not hear nor could the other party. must be some issue with my sd card.

Hi all,

finally I found some time and I decided to look at meego and what is going on there.

So this is from where I'm starting:

* power kernel 47
* backup menu
* CSSU
* some other speed tweaks applied

If I boot with open keyboard I get backup menu.
If I boot with keyboard closed I get power kernel 47

I bought 16GB class 10 external MMC. I'm aware about problems with some cards, but I don't know how to confirm whether I have problems or not.

I decide to keep power kernel 47, so I followed this guide.
The new kernel with uboot flashed correctly and I was able to boot in maemo, seeing penguin in the beginning. So I presume everything pass well here.

I tried also booting with keyboard opened, and for my surprise, I got backup menu after uboot. I was not aware that this will work.

Anyway, I decide it is time to go to last step and flash meego image.
I download it and uncompress it.
I connect my N900 in disk mode, my MMC appeared as /dev/sdd on my Ubuntu.
I umount /dev/sdd1.
I dd the image on sdd device. No errors.
I reboot the phone.

The expected behavior was to boot meego, but it boot kernel power 47.

I've tried several times the boot, bot no success so far.

I connect again the N900 in disk mode, and see that my MMC has 3 partitions,
Linux, Swap and FAT. I've mount them and see kernel there, also progs etc...

Could you hint me please? Am I missing something? Can I force uboot to boot meego kernel, I know it is possible to force Maemo kernel (don't remember how, but have to dig it, as I don't plan to remove my MMC too often)

EDIT: So I found that if I interrupt uboot counter, and type
# run mmcboot
I actually could force mmc boot. The problem is that I receive

MAP3 RX-51 # run mmcboot
Booting from mmc ...
Wrong Image Format for bootm command
ERROR: can't get kernel image!

I downloaded meego image from this link. Is this correct?

EDIT: I've managed to boot in meego, I could not understand how does it happened, but now I will leave it for several hours to initialize correctly (as recommended), after that I will play again with boot process.

So MeGoo community, count me in, hope some day I will release my ideas as working projects.

Hey i did all the steps correctly from the dual boot page in wiki. i installed uboot but it was giving error with kernel 47 so i downgraded to v46 but then it removed the kernel automatically so no kernel then. uboot was working fine as i tested. then i downloaded the latest stable .raw.bz2 file from the link in wiki page and uncompressed it using bzip. then i connected my n900 to pc and in mass storage so it showed memory card drive plus n900 drive. i then formatted the memory card from my windows pc. i did a quick format with fat32. then i opened win32disk and wrote the .img file on n900 memoery card. then on phone it showed, memory card format not supported. then i rebooted and uboot said unable to read unable to read boot.scr. error uImage on mmc0:1 . ok so what am i doing wrong? please help me thanks.
