You can backup everything (manually).
But for contacts/messages/notes and so on there is no suport for N9 and sync with Notes/Outlook/... but only some "Cloud" sync, which I never touched.
So you need to research on TMO about possibilities.

PC Suite or the inbuilt backup application is far enough for me. i just want to know if i do a "Replace operating system (preserves user data)" flash does keep my sensitive stuff? cause the tutorial does not mention it but it mention that this method is good for system update. so in my opinion that means that the method keeps phonebook/messages. but would be good to know what "etc" means in this case...

Afair flashing only the firmware will wipe rootfs and hereby delete apps you have installed. But it does not touch the /home partition where your sensitive data resides (together with configs and user data of apps). Nor is MyDocs affected.

first step done, phuu. every stuff is fine but my apps and the edited keyboard layout. now backup is in progress and full flash planned. hope i can bring back to service my Cutie.

full reflash done, but it still restarts after PIN. all Nokia phones what i have are fully working, except my N9. damn it's a Nokia. it's should be unbreakable...

Maybe you have the error in the backup. reflash full the phone and no put the backup. Have you a older Backup?

i did a zeroized full flash and i don't even mentioned that i put back data from backup, so...

So maybe a damaged image that you try to flash. Download again from mrcrab

a few comments before i told that i already checked the checksum and redownloaded the necessary files too. non of those files corrupted sadly. btw looks like Nokia shutted down that server or removed N9 files cause NaviFirm and mrcrab.net useless now.
