i bought mine simfree from carphone warehouse. price was 469 but they gave me 78 pound for part exing my n95. so i had a brand new n900 for 392 pound thats way better than any other deal ive seen.

seems like the T-mobile £20/18 month contracts are still the cheapest, as when you add the £82 is still comes to less than £450.

if you work out usage at the cheapest rate imaginable of £10/month that gives a handset cost £260.

i shall let him know, thanks.

this is what i mean though , you traded a n95 and paid 392 pounds and now have to pay for your mins , sms and net for the year , how much is it going to cost you?? say 20 a month thats another 240 pounds on top of the 392 so that takes it up above 600 pounds and probably for less mins etc then what you can get for the 12x£50 deal they do and you wouldnt of had to trade a phone in to get it at that price :-)

as long as people are happy thats the main thing really

i think the cheapest ive actually seen is nokias/quidcos cashback deal which meant after the rebate it would have cost 350 pounds but at the minute that offer isnt going anymore so doesnt really count

i did that originally but it takes 3 months to get the cash back.... too long. i didnt know cpw started doing the n900 simfree

yeah i know what u mean but im already locked in to 12 more months of a contract. i actually sold my n97 for 260 to put towards it so i actually only forked out 130 quid. got rid of a phone i didnt like and i get a nice new toy in 12 months so it was a good deal from my point of view.

i sold my n97 with loads of sat nav apps plus others with cerificate (to install apps) for £280.

so n900 works out £378 for 12 month including contract mins or £567 for 18 months minus £280 and £90 cash back lol

I recently got my N900 on a T Mobile 18 month contract. £25 per month inc 300 min, 300 txt and web. Paid £28 for device and got free Nokia slip case worth £17. I don't need many minutes so this suits me fine.

Managed to get the £350 deal a while ago (have to wait for £100) of that, then
- Sold old N95 8Gb for ~£125
- got free X6 from Nokia :-)
- sold N96 for ~£120

so for ~110 I got a new N900, my son got a new X6 and I we're both on £10/m service plans (mine is now on rolling 1 month contract, 1Gb+mins/texts, his is 3's basic 120Mb data package).

All very happy.

I had been looking at voda deals. If you igore the phone resale and my luck in getting a free phone, even at £350 you have to add my 18-24m of service it's not hugely cheaper than a contract of appropriate length even with voda -- and that T-mobile one looks even cheaper.

I would check data options though -- it seems Tmobile block some things on the basic data package (ie MSN), albeit not a huge deal & both have quite a few T&Cs. 3 have very very few restrictions.

Placed a o2 sim in the phone and worked 18month contract.

That's exactly the plan I tried to purchase yesterday. But T-Mobile cancelled my order through MPD, and I suspect it's something weird at the credit check that they've flagged.

Unfortunately, the only contact mechanism they have to resolve this is a postal address. No phone numbers, no email contact points...
