Just a thought,

The buttons are a little small and getting the pen out to use quickly and conveniently is problematic.

could you devise a way maybe by tick box through a menu to choose which part of the remote you would like displayed on the screen.

You see the numbers are not needed for my usage so if i could take that part out of the main screen it would give the cursor controls and video playback controls more room to be resized and easier to use with my finger.

or if not by tick box - 1 or 2 pre-set options to choose of the main screen that you would like to use.

Works well by the way.

That looks so hot!

No chance for a Diablo version that also works on a first generation Xbox is there?

Why am I even asking such stupidity? *lol*

Yeah, you're not the only one to have mentioned the button size. I seem to be able to do it fine with my fingers, and they're pretty big. I'll think about how I can make the components a bit bigger and maybe work on something.

Alternatively, the qml files are under "/opt/usr/share/xbox360-media-remote/qml" along with all the graphics. So if you want to play around with it, maybe customise it to only display the buttons you can see yourself using.

Well, I could probably knock something up for Diablo, but you'd need a working IR emitter attached via USB or accessible over a network connection.

My UI, though currently static, is written in QML, which as far as I know isn't available for earlier versions of Maemo. So if I was to do something it wouldn't at all be the same

My hope is people will look at the QML code and think. I can make this better. Because provided you've got a configured remote in lirc, you can get that app to control it. And as all the UI code is in plain text .. You can do what you want with it.

I use XBMC daily, it's like my true love in this world.

Couldn't you also code to support network connection and not just infrared?

Though to be honest, I don't even know what I'm asking.

I'm such a *****. *lol*

I use mine from about 4 meters away. Haven't done a range test tbh.

Possibly, I'll have a look into it this weekend if I get the opportunity. My next goal is porting it to MeeGo.
