Nexus 9 and nexus 6 launch tomorrow?

Sigh.not many corps. go out of the safety of the comfort-zone anymore..
more of the same-old-same-old...just a little different with each new product...how very tedious and boring.

Whats the reason behind that?

Cowardice? Laziness? Complacency?

4 of the some of the greatest books I've ever read.

1- was a philosopher-economist of the 18th century who was scorned for his dissertation on the future of cities...he postulated a laughable concept of a thing called a Mega-city. Little innovation was done in anticipation.

2- Another treatise was by a scientist more than 200 years ago who was ridiculed for coining a theory and naming it ...sadly to date ..humanity still does little but argue about his "theory". Little has been done in anticipation and warning of his 200 yr old labeled "Greenhouse Effect".

3- A great 19th century text concerning the 7 great powers that each in their turn....rule for a time. 1st- Hunter/ Gatherer 2nd- Agrarian...etc etc and so civilizations cycles. The 7th culmination of control and power resides with the Artists and Artisans before civilizational decay sets in. It has happened time and again. Yet the warning sign of the ruins of the past around us are not heeded.

4- One of the best texts I ever read on the advancement of civilization based it's premise at the start ...to the travelling merchant class...marco polo and his ilk...taking mad gambles and risks to bring needed products from one geographic area to another for (of course) healthy profits. Their risk-taking made a great many innovations possible. So the theory the merchant class were instumentally responsible for innovation, communication, collaboration and advancement.

The N.I.T. , The Galaxy Note , The 1st Iphone ...were technically innovative.
Sedantary fear of profit loss. (no different to the formulaic methods of Hollywood once they find a film-type the population gravitates to...ie. Rocky, Rocky 2, Rocky 3, etc...Alien, Alien 2, Alien 3, etc..)...is a stage we currently sit in until another risk-taker who takes the leap that humanity willingly follows after...that is what I'm waiting for. Sooner or later.

The sad part really is we don't seem to be learning and keep doing the same behaviour over and over again. Regardless the topic.
