Since you asked "N8xx" -- the N800 is practically waterproof as it is. (No, not really! but it's been known to play tunes for the fishes.) The N810 is nothing of the sort. If I (owning both tablets) had my options, I'd take an N800 for such trips, seal it in a ziploc bag (maybe with some extra melted seams all 'round to make sure), and be happy. The N810, though, not only is much less impervious (more pervious?), but also harder to operate inside a bag. You might consider it an excuse to pick up an N800 if you don't have one yet.
