Tough call, the N900 is Maemo 5 and its a dead platform at this point...

I love my N900 dont get me wrong but its days were numbered from day one due to the announcement of Maemo 6 which was said to not be hardware compatible. We might get Meego but it will be unofficial, it will be interesting to see what happens there. We still have a limited platform with no ability to purchase from the Ovi store and Ovi maps is lacking in so many ways compared to its symbian sibling! It is a very cool platform though and still has so much promise - now if we could just get PR1.2 and get moving forwards with the Qt applications...

The N8 on the other hand is Symbian ^3 which is the newest version of Symbian and symbian is Nokia's main platform so this better be fully implemented and have sore and maps from day 1. The N8 is also a pretty decent looking device and looks much more slender than the n900 although the hardware keyboard is great...

Also the other thing to note here is that with the direction Nokia is taking with Qt it should not matter too much which handset you get the applications should be portable between them - at least I hope this works out as they are currently presenting!

I would hold off until the Meego device comes out and then ask this question again as the N900 is old news now.

The only reliable source is manufacturer's website in the first place

Conflicting information but the Nokia site does tell you specs subject to change without notice.
My point was the N8 is a great mobile device packing a fantastic 12mp camera and that it DOES work lol the N900 on the other hand does NOT work anything like the N8 so having them BOTH would be a wonderful experience and a sure way of not worrying about updates for the 900 because you will have a mobile that does everything and a lot more than the 900 does right now lol.

N900 will remain my main device for sure.
But I'm thinking about replacing my N95 8gb with the N8 as sub-phone.
