I email the people at simonics hoping to find a fix to the unreliable incoming calls and they responded with this info;

I don't have any experience with the N810 (or any Nokia phone).

If you have a place for specifying the registration timeout, it is set
at 1200 seconds max on the gateway. If your registration times out,
the gateway won't be able to send calls to you. Most devices/user
agents won't have to set this. It is usually automatic (determined
from the server during the registration process).

I tested my own number on the gateway and received the call
successfully several times in a row just now.

Also verify that in Google Voice you only have the Google Chat option
selected for receiving calls. If you have more than one option
selected (e.g. Google Chat and your cell phone) it will not connect
reliably.

Good luck,
Bill Simon

So Heavy, with that email, are there any tweaks needed that BlinkThinks wrote to get better results with this?

On the N9 from the UI for setting up the SIP account, not much can be changed.

it all depends on your connection AND QOS (wifi only; router dependent). In my case the call quality is great. I'm using a Tomato flashed E4200/E3000 router. On 3G its a bit choppy at times but most of the times its great.

Yeah, what Heavy posted is correct, especially the one about google chat, which I failed to add - but I was hoping that you guys read the instructions, they're all there as soon as you signed-up

Too bad there is not much option in the N9 as well as my Nokia E-series phone where we can set the timeout. Generally, the settings provided by simonics is ideal for Asterix or any VOIP gateway - I'm using a SPA3102-NA, which works perfect.

I'm glad the settings worked for you guys

Addison, I'm just afraid that Google Voice may soon charge their service. AFAIK their free service will end soon....

Well last year, GV said they're extending their free service until 2011... It's actually all over VOIP forums (and google) but hey, I may be wrong
