Anyone having problem with DrLaunch in portrait mode or is it only me, all the icons in portrait mode are like landscape... is there a fix?

.deb installed fine (have to be root) with dpkg -i blah, arranged all my icons and widgets .... awesome. So much easier to hold and use the N900 now! Thanks to arcean and laasonen!

Quick-and-dirt fix:
  • open xterm
  • cd /home/opt/pymaemo/usr/share/pyshared/drlaunch
  • as root, open file "widget.py" with your favorite text editor (e.g.: sudo vim widget.py)
  • comment line 142 (from "self.setMode(o)" to "#self.setMode(o)")
  • save
  • killall hildon-home

Btw, we could ask DrLaunch developer to add an option to disable autorotation...

This would be better uninstalled then. As disabling auto rotation just renders drlaunch main feature be removed.

Actually, I use DrLaunch only because it allows you to change icons size. I will uninstall it when this problem will be resolved.

Yes. Apart from that, the only purpose of using DrLaunch is for rotating icons and it doesn't support theme icons so it could became obsolete,

well notice something else "potrait" edition menu taskbar are a bit messed up
u know state u enter to move the widgets around... i dont know how to explain this.
but thats fixable i think.
