As mentioned before, the graphics of the media player applet which I am using only provide 3 buttons on the bottom row. So I think I will use the radio icon on the left for some of the functionality. Have to think about it a little bit.

Before that change I will first add support for FM Boost which seems to be quit easy.

Yes I am using DBus. Glad to have example source code to start from. Python is no problem. I even planned to write FFM in Python first but it seems that PyQt doesn't support desktop widgets.

Hope this helps

Ps: Feel free to use/reuse/modify / throw to trash/ burn / spit or anything you want on that py source. I'm sure it sucks , has I don't know anything about python....

That's a file called 'MediaPlayerAppletHead.png' in the images folder of your current theme. For the default Nseries theme this image has a size of 338x83 pixels. I guess yours has a much smaller width.

Could you check this and in case I am right resize it to be 338 pixels wide?
The one I have is 250 x 83 mate, looks like you were bang on the money - thanks

Just want to note that boost-script integration isn't that urgent IMO. I checked the custom FMTXD file from here:

http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?t=60567

...and with the newest FMTXD file for PR1.3 its easy to install and much better than the boost-script. All frequencies unlocked, power strenght always set to 120 and there is no need to disable/enable the transmitter when you plug in a charging cable.

So download FMTXD from here
http://jacekowski.org/

and use FileBox (file manager with root access) to copy the file to /usr/sbin (don't forget to backup the original one).

Then open x-terminal and use the following commands:

sudo gainroot
chmod +x /usr/sbin/fmtxd
killall fmtxd
fmtxd -d

(More information to this in the linked thread)

That's it, 76.1Mhz->107.9Mhz available and always full-boosted. Right now i have FM RDS Notify in addition to friendly fm on my desktop (fully covered by media player widget) for RDS info. This is the best solution for me right now.

Is this still being worked on? I like it but it's real fiddly to press the +/- keys to change the frequency, and those keys take ages to respond. Anyway to have a button to open the scrollbar for picking frequncies as well as the +/-?

Also, what's the button on the top left, next to the frequency?

Thanks for this great widget. Can you add routing the incoming calls to "fm" when fm is switched on. And when it is switched off, the call should go normally.

Got an issue with this version of fmtxd in that it wont let me set anyting but .2 increments.

Never mind - fmtx-faker was the solution
