Okay, that's the first I've heard about this.

I've always wondered why GV was completely free, like what does Google get by offering such a service?

Probably location based advertising/spying or they're planning to put up their own Telecom business and GV to them, is all but a test bed

BUT, GV to GV is forever free.. It's only the Free GV to non-GV (US and Canada) that will soon end... I'm still hoping it won't

Most of @BlinkThinks setting would apply for N9. If you just use the settings from simonics and plug them into N8XX Sip app you should be good to go. That being said I have found that inbound calls don΄t always connect on the first, second etc try (I have 4 phone numbers tied to GV). To get around this problem I still use my sipgate sip account (impossible to get now) also with the simonics sip, sipgate answers and simonics calls.

Now the outbound calls work just about 98% of the time with no callback. When I make outbound calls the ringing on my end starts about 10+or- seconds before my party hear their phone ring. For me it΄s no deal breaker, also the call is clear on both ends (cable internet or WiMax)

I tried tutorial posted by BlinkThinks on first page, but even with rebooting device twice, and multiple tries it keeps checking and then returns with cannot connect error on my N9.
BTW trying it on wifi network, since N9 cannot see my wifi currently.

Arie, check your (secret) / password. You may have missed any letter. It's case sensitive. Set Keep alive to Auto. If you have access to your Wifi Router's settings, port forward UDP port 5060-5080 to your N9's IP address. If your router supports QOS, set the N9's IP address to highest as well, also port 5060-5080.

What do you mean? Are you trying it on 3G or on Wifi? Your statement says both WifI and is contradictory...

sorry about that, i meant trying on 3g because i can never get lock on WiFi for some weird reasons (not much worried about it)

It all depends on how good you 3G/3.5G connection is. You should try it first via your WiFi. If your account gets through, your 3G/3.5G connection may be not good enough.
