No notification sound on new message seems to be an issue for a lot of people including myself. Vibrate does work.
Please note that there is a bug already open for this (Issue #186) by Spocreton.
What puzzles me is that for some it works on Cepi's build. Having looked at recent commits from CepiPerez I see nothing that could have fixed the notification issue yet it magically works when using his build. Why is that so ? Can anyone please throw some light on this. Its interesting to know.

@Coderus, it seemed that your latest nightly built 10112012 has some notification problem, it sometimes showed up and sometimes it doesn't especially after I've done some deb installation or soft refresh the screen

- the messages shows time of received by client instead of time of sent by sender / received by whatsapp server.
- no notification at all that there are new messages.
