Thanks leviathan18, was just playing with the Squeezebox stuff today, partly seeing how well a single remote could handle mutliple backends without either
a) compromising the full functionality of any individual device and
b) bloating the application beyond a clear single purpose.

Have to admit I do find the appealing of supporting many different servers appealing. One problem is not having access to the various set ups required.

Does boxee have a pretty good web interface do you know? and is mcp Media Player Classic or something else entirely?

cheers

Think this should get volume working. try to avoid flooding the player with requests as it seems to stop responding completely when I do.

Edit - just replaced the attachment - wrong file.

ok home from work now.
awsome stuff dude,
player selector is much better now,
volume buttons work too, but theres a lag, not with the volume but the volume indicators on the players, but ive just tested and its the same when changing volume from the web interface.
what i have noticed that sometimes when the app stops working it actually is working, there is just a hell of a lag, i played about, then it stopped working after pressing play, was getting changed, about 30 seconds later the player stopped, tested again and was able to reproduce. made the app stop working, then pressed some buttons, waited half a minute/minute, then it works, seems there is a bottleneck somewhere if too many commands are sent?

Hi,

On the n900 you need to enter the IP address of the computer running VLC in your network. Depending on your Operating System you can do either ipconfig (windows) or ifconfig (linux).

It will most likely be a 192.168.0.XXX or 10.0.0.XXX depending on your network / router setup.

From http://wiki.videolan.org/Windows#How...http_Interface
On the PC you need to enable the Http interface.
Open VLC then select Settings > Preferences. Click on the Advanced Settings button in the lower right hand corner of the dialog box to see all the options that are available.
Select Http Interface

try it and let me know how it goes.
