Sorry for the delay, screener. But I think you should start the process from zero, and take care to type 'exactly' what is suggested at the maemo wikis:

A new version of OS 2007 / 770 hacker edition has been provided. Do you think it's possible to do something with our working multiboot set in order to have the possibility of trying it without renouncing to the existent environment (OS2006 booting from internal flash or external MMC). That is, I' d like to boot:

* OS2006 from internal flash, or
* OS2006 from external MMC, or
* OS2007 / 770 hacker edition from external MMC

each one with separate and independent workspaces.

I can't find it, you mean the old mk2 one - SU-18_2007HACKER_2.2006.47-17_PR_F5_MR0_ARM.bin released 2007-02-20?

Luckily the kernel in hacker edition is the same as in latest IT2006 so yes, it is perfectly possible. I have it like this. But each new version must go through internal flash first so if you want to end with IT2006 in flash you must flash it as last one (i.e. OS2007/770 first and then latest IT2006 again).

I don't care which one is in flash so I have both latest IT2006 and the hacker edition on mmc (one on second and one on third partition) and also hacker edition in flash since it was the last one I flashed.

Yes, I'm a bit late... I mean that

Well, really I don't care too: is there any wiki page providing details on how to achieve your same result, or can you give any directions for us?

Such wiki page is mentioned in the beginning of this thread. Differences for third partition (i.e. both IT2006 and 2007 on mmc card) are:
- you need to repartition your card to have 3 partitions not 2
- use mmcblk0p3 instead of mmcblk0p2 for third partition
- add item to bootmenu for booting from third partition, best is to copy included bootmenu.conf.n770.example and edit it to use your preferred filesystem (ext3/ext2), see also README included in initfs_flasher.tgz

What if I just want IT2007/770 in flash and IT2006 in mmc?
I already have IT2006 in flash and mmc, and bootmenu let me choose what to boot: should I simply flash the device with IT2007/770? Or bootmenu will disappear? Where is bootmenu loaded from? What should I do to restore the bootmenu if it is overwritten after flashing?

Bootmenu is in initfs so if you flash whole .bin image it will dissapear. You can unpack FIASCO .bin image with linux flasher ( -F xxx.bin -u) and flash only rootfs.jffs2 (-r rootfs.jffs2 -f).

Fanoush or anybody--I hope you see this and can advise.

I installed the dual-boot, MMC card OS about 2 weeks ago and it was working fine. Then just now I thought to try the 2007HE OS so flashed that...it works too, but of course now I lost the dual-boot option on startup. But my 2006 OS with all its many customized settings should still be on the MMC card.

Can I reinstall dual-boot to get it back? Ideally I would like to keep the 2007HE OS on the internal flash, but that is not so important. More important is getting the dual-boot startup option back without having to repeat everything I did over the last couple of weeks.

Edit: It's easy! Just download & install Fanoush's multi-boot tar file. Now I have 2007HE OS on the internal flash & my much-hacked 2006 OS on the MMC card.
