Yes, that should work. (Or just add that repo, but it's an SDK repo, so better to just grab the .debs you need.)

Oh, and you'd want to get it from here, normally (Diablo ~ Maemo 4.1):
http://repository.maemo.org/pool/mae...free/d/defoma/
But as it happens, it's the same version; that package has not been updated, so it doesn't matter.

I think the problem was the file was missing in the 4.0 repository. One of them gave me a not-found error. The filename was there but the file was not.

Thanks for your help...

Diablo 4.2008.30-2 refuses to install any of those defoma files in
4.0.1
4.1
that's why Abiword install croaked. The app manager says they are incompatible.

Darn....

I haven't had time to figure out where the defoma package in Chinook came from and where I can get the sources to upload to Diablo. This is a task anybody with a bit of debian experience could do - please go ahead and do so if you can then post here so that I know and can thank you

BTW: the same version of AbiWord is in both the extras-devel repositories for chinook and diablo - there is no difference between the source I uploaded to the extras-builder for those distributions. Use the extras-devel matching your version, and if you're on Diablo and don't have defoma - you might be able to try the chinook one, haven't tried it on my diablo tablet yet. It had to build somehow, though, which puzzles me - not sure how AbiWord builds but won't install on a basic diablo+extras-devel given that I'm using the extras-devel builder.

Neither of those two posts answered the question above them. I think the short answer is still "no" because there doesn't seem to be anyone willing and/or able to bugfix this version.

Willing, not able - time. There has been no abiword release - 2.6.4 is the latest in the current series - and I haven't had time to make any maemo-specific changes to the package. I was trying to answer what I saw as the major questions since I last posted - sorry I missed the obvious one right at the end.

Generally - the 2.6.x series will be the latest available for any Maemo build that does not use a gtk with gtkbuilder support, which is all available ones - due to some major changes in the development version. When Maemo catches up to modern desktop linuxes with regard to the GTK upstream version, the 2.8 version (which will be the eventual product of this development cycle) will be available. The current 2.6.x cycle will continue for at least several more months, as we still need an alpha and beta test cycle on the 2.7/2.8 code. You've heard my plea for developers, so I won't repeat it here.
