so if apple sells 3-7 million iphones per quarter, and nokia was selling 3-5 million E71s and N97s per quarter, how many sales and preorders do you think are already on the books?

500k? 1 million?

considering their presale pricing has been pretty aggressive, with phones to be found from $450-$550, once its out en masse for $400 this will be a record setter for nokia for sure. they may have sold that many units in the past, but not combined with flagship unit prices.

i cant see how this cant double-outsell the n97 that did 3 million in its first 2 mos.

From what I've been told.

In the UK:

MPD - 10,000 (sim-free/contract orders)
Nokia Retail - 4,000
Nokia Online Shop - 45,000

Total: 59,000 pre-orders.

Not 100% sure about the NOS figure but the other two were correct as of Tuesday gone.

Those are some real nice numbers.

Obviously not launching the N900 in Asia was a good choice!

I would say at least 48% of all N900 owners will be returning their product--either because it's not what they expected or the phone broke
