Interestingly, it was rather successful despite Nokia's efforts to downplay it. But you don't expect it to be the ultimate hit when Nokia themselves aren't interested, right?

N9 was available in romania since day 1 . I also have warranty and they replaced it once so far . Despite the fact Romania is seen as a very poor country (is neither very rich , is very corrupted) technology has a high potential , we also have the 2nd fastest internet in the world .

If N9 was not a commercial success , then Lumia phones should not even exist .

I hope RIM carries on the great user interface...

If Nokia doesn't want it, let RIM have it so we can have it!

I always wanted the N9 when it was announced. But when the platform was killed off in the media I couldn't justify its full price to myself.

I waited until it was locally on clearance fell in love with it and shortly after bought a second.

It's the first platform I've been able to make a marketable app for, which Nokia should be proud of its openness - not scared of.

Now that I'm happy with QML I look forward to jumping onto RIM's sinking platform (no doubt it will die shortly after I get access to it just like the N9)...

Long live the community.

PS. I'm now constantly forgetting I can't swipe when I pick up my old Android phone.

Guess we are lucky in Denmark, this is (translated) from their product FAQ page

What will happen to my phone if Nokia's MeeGo activities are not continued ?
Your phone is not just a MeeGo - based product - it is the latest Nokia smartphone. Anyone who buys a MeeGo phone will get all the support they need while they are using their product, including software updates , maintenance and standard support services.

Ahh. This is bad. I bought my N9 four months ago and I still believe that this is the best phone on the markets.

I`ve got Galaxy Tab 10.1" and I don`t like it as much.
(OS I mean..)

I hope that some other manufactor buys Meego so that we can buy other devices in the future.
