Hi,
I wonder if there is a way to backup the installed apps somehow.
Does the Ovi-store use the apt-system as well? And if yes, can I find the temporary saved .deb-files somewhere?
In particular I would like to save the developer-tools (terminal,...).

I'm a little paranoid and don't like to be dependent on some web-server to be running. I just want to have everything together (image+flasher+deb-files+...) to get MY device in the condition (terminal+root) I'd like.

Help and clarification is appreciated.

You can download the .deb files from ovi store by removing the caracteres after the "?" (included it) and replacing them by "/download".

Ex:
"http://store.ovi.com/content/55735?clickSource=browse&contentArea=applications& pos=5"

becomes:

This also worked with the Symbian version of the store but only for free apps. Does this also work for paid apps in the Meego store?

Yes it works for paid apps... providing you have paid the app!

My bad, it's not possible for paid apps.

you can't restore installed apps correctly.in N9QT there is a script for shadow copying deb file while downloading and installing.

you can use auto catch from n9qtweak.
it saves the deb files in Mydocs/downloads/OVIcatch i guess

Not exactly backing up already installed apps, but can be used to back up future installations
